I was tasked with designing and writing a spread following the magazine, then Reminiscence - a look into the childhood of those born in the late ‘90s and early - 2000s.
This project allowed me to complete all aspects of creating a magazine. I conceptualized, interviewed, researched, and wrote the story along with designing the spread.
To match the general aesthetic of The New Yorker, I created a spread using an adaptation of an article written by Rafael Parra on the Independence of several Latin American countries. When completed, It was the 200th celebration of independence.
My illustration depicts those Latin American countries celebrating their 200th year as independent countries by representing each with their national flower.
